fook2 v1.0 not working
I read the readme instructions and i was at the part to delete the old plugins, but since i haven't played fallout 3 in awhile i got rusty with the mods since modding it is an utter technical pain. The instructions like all instructions i read weren't 100% clear to me, so i just deleted all fook related files in the fallout folder thinking i could just get the ones that matter back again or something. But unfortunately, upon installing fook2 1.0 which i believe is the foundation for 1.1, i got a big error message "archive integrity check failed. The setup file is not complete, probably possibly due to a incomplete download or a corrupted file". I'm not sure what to do, the more changes I have to do to the game, the more extremely complicated modding the game gets. I'll be eternally grateful for any help.

Download the v1.0 install (exe), then install it to a tem folder on your desktop. From there, after deleting ALL the FOOK plugins, download all of the other stuff on the download page and overwrite older with newer into that temp folder. Rename the temp folder, then uninstall v1.0 from your control panel, which will leave everything from v1.0 (the foundation) intact to pour all of the v1.1 beta stuff into. Then, after it's all in one place, drag/drop all of it into your Fallout 3\Data folder, tick everything applicable in FOMM, and you're golden.
When v1.1 is immaculate and we can call it 'final', we'll pu it all in one, nicley wrapped package that installation will be a cinch.

Unfortunately I can't understand completely what you're telling me, like what a temp folder is and you didn't say what to name it yet.

- Create a 'FOOK' folder on your desktop
- Use the FOOK2 v1.0 installer .exe and point it to the 'FOOK' folder created above
- When the installer is done, delete all of the v1.0 plugins (.ESM's/.esp's)
- Extract the FOOK2 v1.1 Beta 2 Plugins, data, and all the most recent hotfix data/plugins into that 'FOOK' folder
- Highlight all of the contents except for the uninstall stuff and drag/drop it into Fallout 3\Data
- Uninstall the .exe
- Delete empty 'FOOK' folder
- Profit

Just create a new folder on your desktop for instance, install FOOK2 1.0 in that folder. When it's done installing, delete all 1.0 plugins. After that download the 1.1 beta 2 plugins and unrar them into the same folder.
Download the hotfixes located in this post and unrar them into the same folder, overwriting everything it asks about.
When all that is done, copy everything in this folder to your Fallout 3/Data folder, and after open up FOMM and tick every FOOK2 option, find the load order here

Next question is how: how do you "point" it in that particular folder? I use windows 7 if that helps you. Also you said "When v1.1 is immaculate and we can call it 'final', we'll pu it all in one, nicley wrapped package that installation will be a cinch." are you saying i can skip all this and just download it all at once?

Ok, you don't have to install it on your desktop, you could use install it in any temporary folder. For example C temp\.

what i did was put the exe in the FOOK folder, and then i used it again, but i got the same result. When JustinOther said "point" did he mean that when the exe is activated, i'm supposed to direct the files it contains to directly go to the FOOK folder, right? What i can't get is how the exe worked the first time i used to to install fook in the first place.

You guys could just go out and say "You're not worth our time. Go play another game, moron!". It just would be nicer to say you can't help me anymore than just leaving me hanging here by saying nothing.

If the FOOK2 1.0 RC EXE gives an archive integrity check failed error when you run it, then you will have to redownload it. Until it actually runs it does not matter where you run it or what the folder is named.
