I'm starting to work on my Biggest Finest Revolver which shouldn't be a problem and I can get that done this morning. Also I'll work on the PipBoy device finally.
well I'd have tons of Requests, but as I have no idea how to get your great models into Fallout I better keep my mouth shut.
So you could possibly try to get the models FO3able?
just an idea... and it would keep you definately busy
on the other hand the houses in FO3 .. suck.
Have you seen the buildings in Stalker Clear Sky? Those are great!
I know nothing about getting my models into Fallout3. I always thought I was "just the modeler and not the importer." I'm not trying to sound like an ass but modeling makes me happy and fuels my creative tank so to speak, actually getting stuff into the game isn't what I want to do nor what makes me happy. I thought there were lots of experienced people around that could easily do that, I don't know. I have a limited skill set, importing into the game and making them work isn't one of my skills.
Yeah I'll give that gate a go, it's nicely detailed.
Here's my start from no reference images on the PipBoy. Any suggestions I'll look into...
I love Fallout 3. I love the story, the gameplay, and most of all putting a live frag grenade in a Super Mutant's pants and running for cover. Good times... but, the weapons are a great slew of highly lethal weaponry. But that's all, just mainly lethal.
In Vault 101 while you are escaping, you would think the security would try to "STOP" you, not ultimately up and kill you... or those two poor saps that get shot down trying to escape... and when the Overseer confiscates your weapons and uses them against you, cheap shot man... cheap shot...
He starts up on trying to bash you, you give him a hit with this nasty lil biatch, and wham. Knocked out and unable to kill you, yet not dead so as to not traumatize Amata or the rest of the Vault. Might even do the same to Officer Mack. Drag him into the Jail Cell in that room, lock the door, and shoot out the computer. He can die at the hands of the rioters... Leaving your conscience minty clean and lemon-scented!
There are a slew of other weapons for non-lethal purposes. It'd be nice to shoot a raider who you wanna enslave for quick cash at Paradise Falls. Or at the very least shoot Lucas Simms in the balls for his sexual appetite towards ninjas... ._. So how about it America, let's kick ass and be able to ask names later! Then we won't feel so bad when we confiscate equipment then blow their friggin heads off with a Magnum at point blank range...
Beanbag Shotgun as demonstrated by Johnny Knoxville:
And how about a couple of flashlights for the poor bastards who don't have a pip-boy? At least 3 different versions from whatever source you like, and a version of a flash light which mimics a police baton when flipped. The kind that Mall Security are often issued.
And when making these, is it possible to make them look a little more, Army/Police/Vault-Tec Oriented? And to those who would rather pick up a gun and just shoot an asshole in the leg, maybe a video of the fun of the taser gun will entice you...
Actually I was thinkin of 2 versions of each of the featured weapons. One smaller less powerful looking version of the knuckles, electric baton, taser, Light Rifle (PHaSR), Beanbag Shotgun (One with and without the shoulder guard, they could be these models)
(and any shotgun model would do fine for the tougher version as long as it had the Stock)
The taser gun, and a bigger and/or meaner looking version of them that shows at a first glance that you gonn' get shocked/put down. Special Ammunition for these would be good too, like small box cartridges for the Taser Gun and smaller and different looking versions of the Fission Batteries for some of the others.
And if you really like making unique guns, this could be a new model for the infamous "The Terrible Shotgun".
I got one model of the taser done. I will make one other one and then move on to the flashlights.
Yes I am working on your break apart gun. It's looking more like a shotgun than a rifle at the moment though, ie like a coach shotgun. I don't know if this is what you wanted??
That little shotgun looks like a pepperbox pistol but with shotgun shells. This will be an interesting model to make.
I've been thinking about distribution of my models, ie downloads. I think it would be best to have a download link on my site for the requested models. I can keep the requested models separate from my personal ones thus not get ripped off. Plus I can take the requested models and keep adding details to them and make them special and separate from the original base model request. I'll start working on exporting to .mb as well as .obj. I'll also start adding links on the website. I guess eventually after each completed request model I will plug a link to my website so people can download the model.
You said before that although you can make the models, you don't quite know how to import them into Fallout 3 successfully, right? Is there anybody who does know how to do this? If so, why not have that person/persons make a Video Tutorial with links to resources for that very purpose. You can even feature it on your site so people will not have to bitch about how to import/export the stuff you make, because no matter the quality of the model you make, even if someone makes a request, it's perfectly useless unless we know what to do with the file information...
...unless I heard wrong and I am completely inaccurate...?
Also, dude, wtf, how did you do this so fast? ._.
I SMELL ULTRAJET ON YOUR FINGERS!!! D<
Don't ask me why i'm sniffing your fingers, please. ._.

It's not supposed to be small, it's that big gun that Hellboy uses in the second movie. To help with scaling, if the barrel were a cylinder with nothing in the middle, you could fit a bowling ball in it. The idea is to make a shotgun that makes people go IT'S COMIN RIGHT FOR US!!! If status requirements can be implemented into Fallout 3 as they were in Fallout 1, then you'd have to be one strong biatch to wield this thing properly.
Oh and the shotgun shells if I remember correctly were about as wide around and long as 1/3 of a plain vanilla version Police Baton. If anyone ever figures out how to make different ammo classes for a single weapon like in older Fallout Games, this thing is gonna be a 6 hit kill on a Behemoth, then switch to less expensive ammo for 2 hits per normal Super Mutant...

The Norinco Arms QBZ-97. Heres a taste for the rest of you, it's already a unique using the Famas model but it just rubs me the wrong way to improvise like that.
Information; The QBZ-97 is Chinese rifle that can adapt to multiple roles similar to the SA80 or Steyr AUG, the 97 variant is chambered for 5.56 NATO rounds. The QBZ series was also designed to phase out the AK knockoffs that China had been using for so long. It can sport several attachments (not included, separate shipping and handling apply) such as a suppressor, bayonet, and grenade launcher.

Ok thanks for size comparison ideas.

The real golden gun in the James Bond movie is like a block of gold metal, like 50 polies or some crap. I could however do a PPK.

Maya 2009 Unlimited.
I learned my meager skills in the classroom but boards.polycount.net helps me a lot when I have time to burn over there.
I am also gathering materials to make my own video tutorial series on making simple models in Maya 2009 Unlimited. I have to buy some mini tapes for my digital recorder on Wednesday and then I can start to film.
I'm working on Evhmovover's chinese rifle request. If all goes well it will be done in a few hours.
Many other models to do after this:
M14 Sniper Rifle Silenced Scoped
Minigun concept model
Biggest Finest Revolver [decent start on this one, very similar to the Pfeifer Zeliska .600]
Break apart rifle
Later on I want to take another crack at a pistol. My early pistol models are freaking horrible, like 1st page posts. Thinking of going with another concept design; I'm sick of looking at 1911s and USPs.
Here is some progress on the requested Chinese assault rifle, the QBZ-95.
I have to redo the pistol grip and then work on the end of barrel stuff like flash hider. After that some small details and it should be good to go.
While working on the rifle I wanted to make a quick survival knife type. I had a few loose ideas in my head so just went off of a few mental concepts. The first image, an actual render, turned out sort of weird but pretty I think. It's smooth as heck but it's alright. Not a great piece but I wanted to model a quick knife and that's what I got.
I'll finish up this rifle tomorrow hopefully and then move on to the break apart rifle/shotgun thingy, another request.
